Willem de Zwart (1862–1931)
- Born in The Hague, Netherlands.
- Studied at the Royal Academy of Visual Art in The Hague.
- Briefly stayed in Paris, where he encountered new artistic influences.
- Became a member of Pulchri Studio and the Dutch Etching Club.
- During his Loosduinen period, created important works and gained international recognition.
- Married Maria Reevers; awarded at the World’s Fair in Chicago.
- Awarded at the World’s Fair in Antwerp.
- Lived and worked in Amsterdam, producing vibrant cityscapes and figure pieces influenced by Amsterdam Impressionism.
- Returned permanently to The Hague.
